Adirondack 26% Adult Active Recipe Dry Dog Food Review

Adirondack 26% Adult Active Recipe Dry Dog Food Review

Our Recommendation

Some dogs need more protein than others to maintain good body condition and strong muscles. Adirondack 26% Adult Active formula provides all the nutrition to keep active dogs healthy and at the top of their game!

  • Pork and chicken for a great combination of flavor that dogs will chomp down fast.
  • No artificial colors or flavors.
  • No corn, wheat, or soy so dogs that are sensitive to these grains or have allergies can enjoy Adirondack.
  • Probiotics mean your dog has less chance of stomach issues and they get the maximum nutritional value of everything they eat.
  • Sorghum adds a touch of natural sweetness that dogs love!
  • Affordable and easy to get.

I really don’t have any objections to any of the major ingredients in this dog food. It is not grain-free but it does use brown rice as the main grain, which is better than white rice in terms of nutritional value. Pork meal is something dogs love but if you are concerned about GMOs it is worth noting that pigs are fed a lot of GMO feed in their lives so you may want to consider that. Other than that, this is a dog food that would work well for dogs that have sensitivities to a lot of major brands that are heavy on corn, wheat, soy, and animal digest. Just remember this is for active dogs: If your dog is not as active then you should choose the Adirondack 21% Adult dog food.

The Bottom Line

Adirondack’s approach to dog food is to keep it simple with ingredients and don’t use any cheap fillers, artificial colors, or flavors. I like that they add probiotics so I don’t have to. Adirondack has many different formulas so there is one that will work for your dog no matter what life stage they are at. While Adirondack is not grain-free, it does not have grains like corn, wheat, or soy but rice so more dogs can eat this food with no problems. I recommend this formula for active adult dogs that need a high performance meat based ration.
