Wellness Core is one of those dog foods that when you read the list of ingredients you think to yourself that the ingredients are mostly people food. This is always a good sign when it comes to dog food. All too many dog foods, including those that cost a lot, do not have the quality ingredients they like people to think they use. Wellness Core has the following positive points that we are sure will make you want to consider this food for your pooch:
- Healthy protein levels from turkey and chicken.
- No artificial colors or flavors.
- No animal digest or other harmful byproducts.
- Easy to digest formula means your dog gets more out of their dog food rather than just passing it through.
- Absolutely no grains.
- Probiotics for healthy gut bacteria levels. This is ideal for dogs with sensitive stomachs or that are taking medications that can cause stomach upset.
- Great for dogs that have allergies and sensitive skin.
The only downside to this dog food is that it comes in at just over $2 a lb so if you are on a budget this is something to consider. At the same time, you may feed less of this food than other less expensive brands because your dog gets more out of it and there are no cheap fillers. Dogs that are on prescription dog food diets may be able to eat Wellness Core rather than a more expensive only available at your vet brand.
