Halo Holistic Garden of Vegan Adult Dry Dog Food Review

Halo Holistic Garden of Vegan Adult Dry Dog Food Review

Our Recommendation

A vegan diet is not recommended for a dog. Dogs are really meat eaters and it is difficult to provide them with the nutrition they need without using meat or animal products of any kind.

The ingredients of this food are great and top quality but there are some ingredients that are sometimes used as fillers. Beet pulp and potatoes are inexpensive fillers but they are useful sources of calories.

Reading the ingredient list shows that attention was taken to use a diverse array of ingredients; that is always important when looking for a quality dog food.

This dog food would be useful in the case of dogs that have very sensitive stomachs or that are just old and having some digestive issues.

The Bottom Line

The idea of a vegan dog food is a selling point that Halo is taking advantage of. Ask your veterinarian about switching a dog to a vegan diet. It is a different lifestyle that not many dogs follow. Food choices are very limited and while Halo is doing a good job providing a quality dog food, it is expensive for a meatless dog food.  If you are truly dedicated to having a vegan dog then this is quality but otherwise, spend your dog food dollars on a different brand.
