Blackwood Sensitive Skin & Stomach Dry Dog Food Review

Our Recommendation

“Flavorful, easy-to-digest” rings a sound of relief to those canines with sensitive skin and stomach issues. Yes, my little Harley has battled with gastrointestinal issues and skin irritability for years so I understand the benefits of feeding your pooch digestible food that will give them the nutrients they need. Blackwood’s Sensitive Skin & Stomach Formula asserts its kibble recipe is made from small batches slowly cooked to “deliver superior nutrition in every bowl.”

Blackwood Sensitive Skin & Stomach Formula is made of super-premium natural lamb full of proteins. Upon reading the ingredients, I also noticed essential vitamins,  nutrients, and dietary supplements that help maintain dogs with sensitive stomachs happy and energetic:

  • Probiotics aid in digestion.
  • Super premium, all-natural chicken protein provides energy.
  • Excludes corn, wheat, and soy.

Transition Instructions

As soon as your puppy reaches 6 months, they can transition to adult kibbles. Blackwood recommends you feed your pup according to the breed; this includes your canine’s activity level and metabolism. Blackwood also recommends you feed your dog according to a set schedule.

Follow the feeding chart. If you are changing your dog’s diet, mixing rationed portions of old and new is how most dog parents ween their dogs from one food to another. However, I recommend asking your vet first when making any change to your pup’s diet. In addition, make sure you always have plenty of fresh and clean water for your little one.

Feeding Amounts

Feeding Instructions

Daily feeding amounts vary more or less depending on your dog’s size and level of activity. Specific needs also play a role in the amount of kibbles to feed your dog. For example, health issues can affect your dog’s appetite and activity. When this happens, you may need to make adjustments to your dog’s food in order to maintain proper weight and health. You should always follow the recommendations of your dog’s veterinarian.
