Feeding Instructions

Per Instinct, you should follow their recommendations on their feeding table. The feeding amounts will vary by your dog’s age, weight, and activity level.  Adjust your dog’s diet according to your canine’s weight listed on the chart. Above all, make sure to always have fresh water for your little one.

Puppies (Except Large Breed [70+ lbs as an Adult])

Feed up to twice the adult maintenance amount shown above.

Pregnant and Nursing Females

Feed up to 3 times the adult maintenance amount shown above.

Per Instinct, “Along with dry food, we recommend feeding raw or wet food to help increase the amount of water in your pet’s diet.”

Transition Instructions

Instinct recommends you introduce their new food for over a period of 5 – 7 days. Mix increasing amounts of Instinct with your dog’s current food each day. As the days go by, continue to increase the new food ration gradually as you decrease the old formula. On the last day of the transition, your canine’s bowl should only have the new food.

Start by mixing one-quarter to three-quarters (25% new to 75% old) of your dog’s current formula with Instinct’s Nature’s Variety Raw Boost Small Breed Grain-Free Recipe with Real Chicken Dry Dog Food. Gradually increase the new food to old food to avoid any digestive issues that may be caused by a sudden change of food. Make sure your dog has a bowl of clean water.

You should always take precautions to make sure your canine is not allergic to any of the ingredients in his/her new formula.  Finally, make sure to check with your dog’s veterinarian first before making any changes to your canine’s diet.
